Spike makes performing inventories, collecting structural information, capturing asset location, and conducting condition and maintenance assessments quick, easy and thorough. All you need to equip yourself with is Spike and your smartphone or tablet. From a photo, capture measurements and the location (latitude, longitude, altitude) of the asset.
Time to Measure Facilities and Assets Decreases to Minutes
With Spike, your time to measure an object is reduced to minutes. Take a photo of the object you want to measure, such as a building or wall, using the Spike app and your smartphone or tablet. From that photo, assess and record conditions of buildings and calculate heights, widths and areas. Spike allows you to measure hard-to-reach objects that would otherwise require additional equipment or labor. All it takes is one person to capture measurements from a safe location and distance.
Measurements are saved with the photo and can easily be shared with your colleagues or clients. From the Spike app or cloud, select the export format for your needs, including JPG, PDF, Spike file (XML), KMZ or viewable URL. You can also access your photos at any time to remeasure, eliminating the need to return to the location for additional measurements.
Quickly Capture Assets and Assess Hard-to-Reach Objects
Spike enables you to evaluate and catalog physical structures, such as buildings, statues, landmarks, and oil or gas tanks, by capturing positional data (latitude, longitude, altitude) remotely. You can also measure hard-to-reach objects that would otherwise require additional equipment, labor or tools. All it takes is one person to capture all the measurements you need from a safe location and distance. Each photo can be exported as a KMZ file and imported into popular GIS tools, such as ArcGIS and Google Earth.
What Our Customers Say About Spike
“I am using Spike attached to a cell phone for quick measurement capture as part of my job. No longer do I respond to questions with, ‘It’s approximately.’ I can be definitive. My team now has three Spikes attached to iPad Minis for field data capture. Spike allows me to capture details of buildings for asset management safely, quickly and from a distance and with only one person rather than a team of people. A picture is worth a thousand words; a Spike enhanced picture is worth two thousand.”
