STORM HARDENING

The process of ensuring a network will continue to function through a major storm by improving areas where infrastructure is likely to fail. It is prevalent in the southeast United States in response to hurricanes.  It is also used to refer to firestorms and tornados elsewhere in the U.S. Sometimes referred to as network reliability.
