Operational Project Manager- Utility

Location: Remote or hybrid for residents near Broomfield, CO. Ideal candidates are near our Broomfield, Colorado HQ office and can come into the office on occasion. However, ikeGPS has a “Work Anywhere” policy which allows U.S. remote candidates to also be considered.

Salary: Estimated annual compensation will be $80,000 – $110,000 flexible based on relevant experience. This is a full-time opportunity that offers full benefits.

Operational Project Manager Role Summary:

The Operational Project Manager helps to ensure utility pole collection, engineering, and delivery consistently meet or exceed customer expectations. This role will effectively plan, monitor, and drive project outcomes keeping stakeholders informed and teams on schedule.

Operational Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Define and plan various operational projects in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Create a detailed work plan which identifies all stakeholders
  • Identify all activities needed to successfully complete the project
  • Determine the resources required to complete each project
  • Develop a schedule for project startup and completion
  • Review the project schedule with stakeholders
  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion
  • Facilitate meetings, take meeting minutes, and summarize deliverables to ensure stakeholders are organized and remain on task for the duration of the project
  • Create and utilize all available resources to monitor and communicate project progress
  • Prepare progress reports and establish a communication schedule to regularly update stakeholders
  • Monitor the progress of the project and make any necessary adjustments to ensure the successful completion of the project
  • Regularly review the quality of the work completed with the project team to ensure that it meets the project standards
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within scope, and are at the required level of quality
  • Evaluate project outcomes and identify area for improvement
  • Ensure that all project information is appropriately documented
  • Holds key relationships with the Head of Operations, IKE Analyze Manager, Sales Representatives, Solutions Engineers, Third Party Contractors, FDC Manager
  • Reports directly into the Director of Operations

Operational Project Manager Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from a four-year accredited college or university
  • Must have some experience working within or with the utility industry
  • 3+ years’ work experience as a Project Manager or related position. Must have some exposure working within or with the utility industry.
  • 2+ years’ work experience interfacing directly with external customers to accomplish objectives in a project management capacity
  • Experience with a project management tool (i.e. Microsoft Projects or similar)
  • Strong Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Google Docs, Sheets, Earth and Maps
  • Understands and can apply project management methodologies
  • Previous experience working with contractors

Operational Project Manager Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Certification (i.e. PMP)
  • Business Analyst experience performing data analysis exercises with customers
  • Engineering, field engineering, etc. exposure is a plus
