The PoleOS™ Company
Hiring adds to IKE’s expertise in the electric utility industry
BROOMFIELD, COLO., July 2, 2026 – ikeGPS (IKE), leading provider of utility infrastructure intelligence solutions, today announced that Mike Yates has joined the company as Director of Utility Enterprise Solutions for the Midwest, Central region.
Yates brings more than two decades of sales and business development experience to IKE, including 16 years focused on the electric utility industry. He has partnered with investor-owned utilities (IOUs), cooperatives, and municipals across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions, sharing T&D asset management best practices and business case support.
His proven ability to demonstrate the ratepayer benefits of lifecycle investment strategies versus historical O&M practices to public utility regulatory commissions reflects his strength in forming consultative partnerships with clients. The results of those partnerships include several million distribution pole inspections and life-extension projects, as well as more than 100,000 steel structure inspections and remediations.
Mike commented, “Our electric utility partners are facing unprecedented times managing the confluence of growing energy demand, pole attachment requests, and storm-hardening requirements while simultaneously managing aging infrastructure. IKE’s unique portfolio of solutions for field data collection, analysis, and process automation distinctly confronts these headwinds, while simultaneously aligning tools and departments for the digital horizon of asset management best practices.”
Mike’s appointment comes as IKE continues to expand its industry-leading suite of hardware and software tools that help electric utilities acquire and analyze data to secure, maintain, and improve grid infrastructure.
IKE’s Vice President of Utilities, Carl Almeter, said of Yates, “Mike’s track record of building meaningful partnerships with IOUs, cooperatives, and municipal electric providers makes him an exceptional addition to our team. His ability to connect utility business challenges directly to lifecycle investment strategy is exactly what our customers need from a trusted advisor, and we are thrilled to have him representing IKE in the Midwest and beyond.”
Yates earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Cincinnati and is based in Columbus, Ohio.
