IKE Office Pro

Measure, verify, and annotate with confidence

Turn calibrated field photos into engineering-grade pole records, ready for PLA, GIS and other downstream work.

The challenge

Manual data entry, unverifiable measurements

Inconsistent, error-prone field notes create data quality issues that cascade to downstream systems.

Consistent measurements

Laser-calibrated photos enable analysts to measure attachment heights with engineering-grade accuracy

Faster annotation

PolePilot's AI-assisted detection speeds up annotation by up to 30%

Fewer downstream errors

Standardized, verified data flows cleanly into pole loading analysis and GIS systems

Measurement capabilities

Everything measured from calibrated photos

Height of Attachment (HOA)

Measure precise heights for every attachment using laser-calibrated photos. IKE’s measurement tools account for camera angle, distance, and lens characteristics to deliver engineering-grade accuracy.

  • Measure attachment height from ground line
  • Classify attachment types (power, comm, cable, fiber, transformer)
  • Identify owner/attacher for each attachment
  • Handle multiple attachments at same height
Watch: How to measure HOA

Vertical separation

Measure clearances between attachments to verify National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) compliance. IKE Office Pro automatically flags separation violations, helping identify make-ready work requirements before construction begins.

Pole specifications

Verify and document complete pole details, comparing field observations against asset records to identify discrepancies.

  • Height, class, and species
  • Pole condition assessment
  • Ground line location and buried depth
  • Pole tag/ID verification

Span length and height

Measure distance between poles and mid-span height for wire sag calculations, structural analysis, and construction planning. Measure back span to the previous pole, then copy as fore span to the next pole to maintain consistency across routes.

Guy wires & anchors

Document all guying and anchoring—critical information for structural analysis and safety assessments.

  • Guy attachment height and length
  • Guy direction and wire type
  • Anchor lead length and type
  • Multiple guys and anchors per pole

Location verification

Confirm GPS position captured in the field, either standard or RTK, and adjust if necessary using interactive map-based tools — pole locations are overlaid on satellite photos for visual verification.

PolePilot AI-assisted annotation

PolePilot is IKE’s computer vision engine that automatically detects and classifies attachments in pole photos. It accelerates work by suggesting where attachments are and what they might be—analysts verify and correct rather than measure from scratch.

  • Up to 30% faster annotation compared to manual measurement
  • Human-in-the-loop design maintains quality control

Pole data management

Build and manage records without juggling windows

Single-screen record building

View photos, measurements, form data, and maps on a single screen. Large, calibrated photo display, measurement tools overlay, field data form, attachment summary, and map showing pole location eliminate the inefficiency of juggling multiple windows.

Visualize pole data at scale

View all poles in a project on an interactive map with instant access to individual records. Display poles colored by status, filter by owner or project phase, click any pole to open its record, and verify span measurements by comparing GPS distances.

Your questions answered

How accurate are measurements from IKE photos?

IKE's laser-calibrated photography enables measurements accurate to within 5 cm (2 in), meeting or exceeding manual hot stick accuracy while being faster and safer. The IKE Device uses a laser rangefinder to establish exact distance, and software accounts for camera angle and lens characteristics. Because measurement is completed in the office, analysts can take more time to ensure accuracy without field safety pressures.

What if a photo is partially obstructed or unclear?

Multiple photo angles (typically 4–6 per pole) ensure obstructions in one view don't prevent measurement from another. Digital zoom can clarify equipment in low-contrast situations. If no clear view exists, analysts can flag the pole for additional field photos.

Does IKE Office Pro automatically alert users to NESC violations?

Yes. When you measure vertical separation between attachments, IKE Office Pro automatically compares clearances against NESC requirements and highlights violations with visual indicators directly on the pole photo. Color-coded flags show which separations fail to meet code (red means failure, and green means compliant), making it easy to identify make-ready work requirements during annotation rather than discovering compliance issues later during engineering analysis.

How does IKE Office Pro handle poles with unusual configurations or non-standard equipment?

Custom fields and free-text annotation options accommodate non-standard equipment and unique pole configurations. Fielders and analysts can add notes, custom measurements, and photos highlighting unusual features.

What training is required for back-office analysts using IKE Office Pro?

Most analysts become proficient within one week of regular use. IKE provides training through IKE University self-paced courses, live virtual or on-site sessions, step-by-step documentation, and ongoing support. Many organizations have new users shadow experienced users for a few days.
