Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director
Glenn Milnes is the CEO and managing director at ikeGPS, where he is accountable for the company’s overall strategy, performance and growth.
Glenn joined ikeGPS from No 8 Ventures, where he was investment director. In this role, he was responsible for a portfolio of early-stage, high-growth technology businesses. The fund’s investments spanned the fields of medical robotics, aerospace, telecommunications software and measurement technologies, and listed businesses on the London Stock Exchange, Australian Stock Exchange and New Zealand Stock Exchange. Glenn also served in director and management roles across several companies.
Prior to this position, Glenn held senior strategy and operational roles at London-headquartered Cable & Wireless International, overseeing and advising a group of international mobile and fixed-line telecommunications companies and startup ventures operating in Europe and the Americas.
Before entering the business world, Glenn played professional cricket in New Zealand, England and The Netherlands, representing New Zealand at various levels.
Glenn holds an MBA with distinction from Imperial College London, a Bachelor of Science with first-class honors from Oxford Brookes University and a Bachelor of physical education from the University of Otago.
Chief Financial Officer
Dennis Bencala is the chief financial officer at ikeGPS, where he is responsible for finance and administrative functions as well as financial strategy and planning.
With more than 30 years of experience working in Silicon Valley for high-growth public and venture capital-funded technology companies, Dennis brings extensive international business experience within the broad technology market. Previously, Dennis served as CFO and vice president of finance at Ikanos Communications Inc., a NASDAQ-listed broadband DSL company. At Ikanos, Dennis led the finance, legal and IT functions and in 2015 completed the acquisition of Ikanos by QUALCOMM Incorporated.
Prior to his time at Ikanos, Dennis served as CFO at venture capital-backed startup Renewable Energy Test Center; CFO and corporate controller of NASDAQ-listed SIRF Technology Holdings Inc., where he helped grow the company from less than $10 million in revenue to more than $300 million in revenue; and corporate controller of venture capital-backed and Hong Kong-listed ScanVision Inc.
Dennis holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting and finance from San Diego State University.
Executive VP of Engineering & Operations
Richard Mander is the executive vice president of engineering and operations at ikeGPS, where he is responsible for the design, development, production and support of all products.
Prior to joining ikeGPS, Richard held technology engineering leadership and management roles at Apple, Visualant, Contour, Carousel, HumanWare, Navman and Zanzara. As a cross-functional leader with expertise in the development of new technology products, Richard has led the development of many award-winning products. Richard holds multiple technology patents as well as speaks and writes about user-centered product design.
Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts from University of Canterbury, a Masters of Arts from University of Auckland and a Ph.D. from Stanford University.
Chief Technology Officer
Leon Toorenburg is the chief technology officer at ikeGPS, where he leads the research department to investigate how to leverage new technologies to simplify and speed up ikeGPS customers’ workflow.
Leon is the founder of ikeGPS and has been instrumental in the development of all ikeGPS’ products. He holds numerous U.S. and international patents on measurement technologies. As a measuring expert, Leon uses a variety of novel techniques to advance the practice and ensures ikeGPS’ customers are advantaged by his continued application of technical insight.
Leon holds a Bachelor of Science from Victoria University and Bachelor of Engineering with honors from Canterbury University.
Senior Vice President, Utility & Communication Business Unit
Mike McGill is the senior vice president of the Utilities & Communication business unit at ikeGPS, where he is responsible for delivering collection, analysis and management solutions for customers focused on distribution assets.
Prior to joining ikeGPS, Mike served as the senior vice president of sales at Navagis and spent six years at DigitalGlobe in director- and vice president-level positions for the spanned commercial and defense segments. After leaving DigitalGlobe, Mike leveraged his intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance experience by co-founding a drone company, now known as Silent Falcon UAS.
Mike’s commercial sales and market development experience also includes six years at Autodesk as the director of sales and business development for the Autodesk Location Services business unit, which was acquired by Telecommunications Systems Inc. Mike has established himself as an accomplished public speaker with an ability to adapt and deliver compelling presentations across industries.
Mike earned his degree in economics from the University of Utah.
Rick Christie, Chairman
Chairman of Ebos Group. Experience as a director on a number of other major boards, including TVNZ. Previously CEO of investment company Rangatira Ltd. 21 years’ management experience in the international oil and gas industry.
Alex Knowles, Director
Alex operates a number of companies in the information technology and transportation industries with a focus on technology and efficiency created from adherence to best industry practices. Alex was formerly COO of the largest international freight forwarder and small parcel consolidator in the U.S.

Fred is an executive leader with extensive global experience in the telecommunications industry. He is currently a director of NASDAQ listed Ikanos Communications Inc. and former CEO and president of Tekelec Inc.

Peter Britnell, Director
GIS industry veteran who established and grew the Asia/Pacific business for Smallworld that later listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange and was later acquired by General Electric. Subsequently VP Worldwide Sales for GE Smallworld and GE Network Solutions.
Dr. Bruce Harker, Director
Bruce heads Morrison & Co’s Energy Sector team and has an extensive background in the electricity industry, including direct utility management roles, advisory and investment experience. Bruce is chairman of TrustPower and was formerly chairman of Lumo Energy.
